Purpose/Material Description.

This specification establishes the functions, performance, reliability, and validation required for 1-propanol as a solvent.1-propanol needs to be High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) grade, chemical formula CH₃CH₂CH₂OH. The Chemical Abstracts Services (CAS) number is 71-23-8.

Applicability.

1-propanol is used as a manufacturing aid of the Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) It is used for dissolving and mixing components within dispersion solutions. These dispersion solutions are then formed into layers of the MEA utilizing coating and/or casting methods.
