Purpose.

This standard provides the process by which injection molded components are integrated into their production manufacturing environment from T1 Tryouts through Start of Regular Production (SORP). This includes but is not limited to: (i) Health assessment: machine, mold and auxiliary equipment, (ii) Machine selection and preparation, (iii) Material preparation, (iv) Transferring T1 Process, (v) Process refinement, (vi) Process assurance. This document is to be used in congruence with the already developed universal process from T1 to ensure minimal changes needed for production. Molded components will be classified into one of the following three categories: General Components, Precision, and High Precision Components. Component classification will be determined by the Design Release Engineer (DRE) in the Statement of Requirements (SOR). The Manufacturing Engineer and DRE shall arrive at a consensus for classification to determine if the machines at the molding facility are capable. Compliance for capability will be determined by the Supplier Quality Engineer before Pre-Production Approval Process (PPAP).
