Purpose/Material Description.
This specification includes materials and performance requirements of Vinyl Methyl Silicone (VMQ) rubber compounds with special high temperature and flame resistance properties.
• Type A: Silicone rubber (VMQ) with short-term resistance to 950 °C flame exposures

This standard is primarily intended for use on injection molded or extruded rubber components in the battery pack, especially those which seal and direct hot gas (950 °C) during a thermal runaway event.
